# When will I get a letter if my plan is ending?

Two mailings matter: the Annual Notice of Change arrives in September, and if your plan is leaving Medicare entirely, the Plan Non-Renewal Notice arrives in October.

September: the Annual Notice of Change Medicare says plans send an Annual Notice of Change in September describing changes in coverage, costs, or service area for the coming year. October: the non-renewal notice Medicare says that when a plan leaves Medicare, you get a notice in October telling you your plan will no longer be available. If nothing has arrived Call the plan's member services number on your insurance card, or call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227), available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week except some federal holidays. Keep any envelope you receive — the plan name and contract number printed on it are what a counselor needs.
